Leda Kobziar (PI)
Associate Professor of Fire Science and Forest Conservation, University of Florida
Leda’s experience in prescribed fire went from waiting 3 years to conduct a 15 acre burn in California to burning every week weather permits at the University of Florida’s forest. She is thrilled to be conducting fire research and teaching in the Southeast.

Alan’s passion for fire management started in California 49 years ago, and his work with prescribed burning has taken him from the West Coast to Indonesia to the Southeast.

Annie joined the USDA Forest Service, Southern Research Station in 1999 and currently focuses on expanding technology transfer capacity and delivery of wildland-urban interface information across the southern region.

Kevin Robertson
Fire Ecology Program Director, Tall Timbers Research Station.
Kevin's research focuses on plant community and ecosystem ecology of the Southern Coastal Plain. As Program Director, he places a priority on research that can be applied to managing and conserving natural communities and declining species.

Joe is involved in forest management and planning worldwide, including the analytical work on seven US National Forests.

Carol Armstrong
Librarian Specialist, Tall Timbers Research Station
Carol identifies and catalogs fire science articles, papers, and other documents for the Tall Timbers E.V. Komarek Fire Ecology Database. She also coordinates with FRAMES to integrate the Fire Ecology Database with their Resource Cataloging System.

SFE Information Technology Specialist, North Carolina State University
Chet is currently working on a master’s degree of Geospatial Information Science and Technology and works with different crews on prescribed burns throughout the Southeastern US.

As a Master’s Candidate in Natural Resources-Policy and Administration, John is working with the SFE to increase the efficacy of fire science information dissemination while increasing public knowledge of prescribed fire.

Research Associate/GIS Specialist, North Carolina State University
Justin's work focuses on creating, maintaining, and disseminating geospatial datasets utilized in fire management, for both the operation and planning arenas. He works primarily with federal land management agencies along the Eastern Seaboard.
