Description: “Join us on September 30th at 1 pm ET for our next Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership Conservation Science Speaker event. Our speaker, Shan Cammack, Georgia DNR Wildlife Biologist, Fire Management Officer for the Georgia DNR Wildlife Resources, Chair of the Georgia Prescribed Fire Council, and former Longleaf Partnership Council member, will take a closer look at the role of prescribed fire in restoring and managing fire-adapted ecosystems in the Southeast. As Shan often says, “The South is going to burn. Either we pick the day, or Mother Nature picks the day.” Prescribed fire is more than land management. It’s conservation in action, rooted in science, ethics, and community stewardship. We invite our partners, landowners, and the broader conservation community to join us in exploring how fire continues to shape the landscapes and wildlife we care about.💧🦌🦃”
