The International Association of Wildland Fire and the Wildland Fire Leadership Council (WFLC) and its three regional strategy committees, invite you to register for the 7th Annual National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy Workshop, September 16-19, 2024 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
This event will take advantage of the unique opportunity to utilize the collective voice and brain trust of Workshop attendees to identify solutions and actions for barriers you’re experiencing, as well as for the Critical Emphasis Areas and Challenges outlined in the Cohesive Strategy Addendum that are keeping us from implementing the Cohesive Strategy at scale.
The conference coordinators are looking for attendees that include:
- State, Federal, and Tribal land managers, agency administrators and fire managers
- Federal, State and Private natural resource planning specialists
Local planning officials - Emergency management and law enforcement personnel
- Wildfire risk reduction and post fire recovery practitioners
- County and city management
- Utilities management
- Insurance industry leaders
We work closely with our partners at the Southern Regional Strategy Committee of the National Cohesive Strategy and we have collaborated with them in the past on duff workshops, fire science webinars, regional training needs surveys and more. The Southern Fire Exchange team has also participated in Cohesive Strategy Workshops in Nevada, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and New Mexico. These are really interesting events that bring together a wide range of attendees with diverse wildland fire experiences and backgrounds. While we won’t be attending the workshop this year, we hope that you’ll consider going and visiting with some of our partner Fire Science Exchanges.
