The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a full-time Administrative Faculty position as the Living With Fire Special Projects Manager with Cooperative Extension. The Living With Fire (LWF) Program is a statewide interagency effort coordinated by University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) that teaches communities to live more safely in wildfire prone regions. This position will work on short-term projects that are dictated by grant funding. The Special Projects Manager will work closely with the entire LWF team and will be directly supervised by the Living With Fire Director. In the short-term, the Special Projects Manager will be leading and coordinating the development of a fire-science curriculum for northern Nevada and contributing to other statewide programming. Future project focus will be determined by grant funding. The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to the following: lead and coordinate the development of a high school fire science curriculum for Northern Nevada; build relationships with stakeholders to develop curriculum; work with Extension 4-H program to recruit a network of high school teachers; coordinate and deliver “teach the teacher” trainings; develop project status reports including budget, deliverables and project timelines.
