Clemson Extension will host a webinar series to help landowners and resource managers balance harvesting operations while preserving desired wildlife benefits and stand health. While pine straw is valuable to homeowners as a mulch, pine needles are also valuable to the forest, serving critical ecological functions, including helping to carry prescribed fires as a fine fuel, protecting soil and water resources, and recycling nutrients.
This is a 4-part webinar series. The first webinar takes place on Sep. 16 from 11am to 12pm. The webinar repeats at the same time on Sep. 23, 30, and Oct. 7. In order to receive CFE’s or pesticide credits you must attend all 4.
