SFE Webinar Recording: Prescribed Burning with Research and Training Objectives

The recording of our February 2023 webinar “Prescribed Burning with Research and Training Objectives” with Andy Rappe from The Nature Conservancy is now live on our Southern Fire Exchange YouTube Channel. In his previous position as the assistant director of the UF/IFAS Ordway-Swisher Biological Station in north central Florida, Andy was responsible for managing an active prescribed fire management program while also supporting research opportunities for visiting scientists.

In this webinar presentation and discussion, Andy talks about his lessons as a land manager working with researchers and fire scientists. He also talks about how he learned to integrate wildland fire training opportunities with his fire management programs. This was a great webinar that touched on a lot of topics that many public land managers can put into practice.
