WORKSHOP
Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Wildland Fires
September 13-15, 2023
The National Academies Board on Atmospheric Sciences and Climate invites you to this workshop on September 13-15, 2023, on current understanding of how changes in wildland fire greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions could affect our ability to achieve ‘net-zero’ GHG emissions targets.
This workshop will identify opportunities to improve measurements and model projections of emissions in order to advance understanding and inform management practices that could limit emissions from wildland fires. Participants will consider how changes in emissions from these fires could affect our ability to achieve ‘net-zero’ GHG emissions targets. Additionally, workshop discussions will consider management practices that could be incorporated in current and future action plans. Registration and more information.
