The National Interagency Fire Center Predictive Services group issues the national wildland fire outlook at the beginning of each month. The latest outlook (pdf) looks ahead from May through August, typically the peak of US wildfire season. The outlooks assess fuels, seasonal trends, climatology, and long-term weather forecasts to identify potential regional wildfire hotspots. Check out all of the Predictive Services Outlook products.

Description: “The Coastal Fire Program Coordinator directs and supports prescribed fire planning and operations, oversees training and qualifications of crew members at the local level, and builds partner support for prescribed fire management in South Alabama and NW Florida. This position is responsible for implementation of prescribed fire on TNC managed lands to restore native habitats and in supporting increased prescribed fire on other conservation lands that have been identified as management priorities. This position will be based out of our Mobile or Splinter Hill Bog Preserve Offices.”
